I thought the Batman Chronicles were very similar to
the Superman Chronicles not because
they have basically the same cover but they simply have close to no depth. At
least in this book, you can predict exactly what’s going to happen in every comic/episode:
Batman will get the bad guy and Batman himself will be completely fine. It
wasn’t very interesting to read but I do appreciate the character (or more what
the character comes to be as I know now) Batman/Bruce Wayne because of split
personality. Again very similar to Superman except, I feel that Bruce Wayne is
more genuine than Clark Kent. The difference is Clark Kent’s real self is
Superman not the other way around, he’s pretending to be Clark Kent, whereas Bruce
Wayne’s real self is Bruce Wayne, and quite frankly I don’t think I see him as
pretending to be Batman; he is Batman. Superman’s core traits and personality
change as he bounces back and forth between personas but Batman’s personality
stays consistent. To me it seems like he might as well not be wearing a mask.
